Over the last decade, the spring has almost always been the busiest time of the year on my training calendar. So much so, in fact, that up to 50% of my open enrollment courses in any given year have often taken place between the beginning of March and the End of June. Historically, my schedule has been quite haphazard. Building a business in the training world means always looking for any opportunity to teach and never saying “no” to an invitation… so, there have been a lot of times that I was teaching in one time zone one day, flying across the country the next and heading halfway back to where I started for a course on the following weekend… the tenet of Efficiency has often been an allusive one in regard to my travel plans!

As my business has become more established and demand for training courses has increases I have simultaneously developed several long-term relationships with course hosts and venues. These two things have meant that my ability to make the schedule more convenient has dramatically increased. So much so that we were actually able to put together a legitimate Cross Country Tour last spring and it was a great success. The event started in Philadelphia in March and ended in June at the Firearms Academy of Seattle. Along the way, there were over 20 courses in over a dozen states. But, that was really just a test run.

In the spring of 2012, I will be spear-heading a much more ambitious Cross Country Training Tour for Personal Defense Network and sponsored by industry leading companies including Laserlyte and Cross Breed Hoslters. The PDN Training Tour will start in Georgia in March heads north with stops leading up to New Hampshire, turns west and again end in Washington State, but this time in Mid-July and after almost 20 states are visited and over THIRTY Courses are conducted!

This tour will feature Combat Focus™ Shooting, Advanced Pistol Handling and Combat Focus™ Carbine Courses. And, I will not be the only instructor teaching on the tour… we’ll be featuring some other PDN Contributors as well… ones that I’m sure you will recognize and want to train with!

In addition to the courses themselves, reason enough to sign up, all of the courses being run under the banner of the PDN Tour will have some special features including give-aways from our sponsors, special product demos and loans Tour T-shirts available exclusively to Class Participants (and FREE to Registered PDN Members attending training!!). The tour was always be conducting weekly video updates from the road, featuring not only my own thoughts and observations, but those of the students participating in the courses as well.

Some of the dates for the latter part of the tour and some of our sponsorship details are still being worked out… but I wanted to announce this awesome new project to kick off the new year.
