The Introduction to Defensive Handguns Course is designed to educate the student about the handguns that are best for personal defense and how to use them efficiently in the context of a home defense scenario.
This course will cover the basics of intuitive defensive shooting, Combat Accuracy, The Balance of Speed & Precision, an introduction to the understanding the Body’s Natural Reactions during a Dynamic Critical Incident, understanding the integration of lateral motion and additional concepts as time allows.
This Course will provide the student with an understanding of true Counter Ambush training with a defensive firearm, base level defensive shooting skills and a training methodology for continuing to develop those skills.

Take advantage of this unique opportunity to build your own AR with the assitance and guidance of Brownell's world class staff at their headquarters in Montezuma, Iowa. During this intense day of education and activity, you will be able to select each part from the Brownell's catalog and assemble your own custom AR type rifle in anticipation of taking 2 days of Combat Focus Carbine training with Rob Pincus at the Brownell's Range facility on the days immediately following this course. The Introduction to Defensive Handguns Course is designed to educate the student about the handguns that are best for personal defense and how to use them efficiently in the context of a home defense scenario.
This course is designed specifically for those new to firearms, but experienced shooters who are interested in learning specifically about using a handgun for personal defense in a home defense environment may also want to attend.
This comprehensive course takes place at a live fire range where students will be introduced to the fundamentals of defensive shooting. Students will learn about various firearms types and the distinct advantages that some have over others with regard to defensive use. Students will be introduced to the most important shooting skills and have the opportunity to develop their competency in the context of a "home defense" shooting situation. Fundamental Home Defense Tactics, Responsible Defensive Firearms Storage and dealing with Law Enforcement Response will also be covered.
This course is designed to take 4-6 hours, depending on class size.
Students will need to bring 250 rounds of ammunition and should bring their defensive handgun, if they own one, and three (3) magazines . If you do not own a firearm we can provide one for you for the duration of the course.

CFS is based on years of constantly evolving information about how the body works and what really happens during Dynamic Critical Incidents and has been heavily influenced by the diverse group of instructors that are certified to teach it and the thousands of students who have been through courses all around the world. The program features a variety of specialty drills and training methods that the student will be able to utilize in the their own practice after the course in order to continue to develop their abilities.

An advanced 2-day course for experienced shooters and armed professionals. This course will focus on engagements inside of "double arm distance." This course features a significiant amount of retention work, unorthodox shooting positions, introduction to some Combat Focus shooting concepts and a variety of less-lethal options. During this course students will utilize impact reduction equipment and training rounds to engage one another and role-players with firearms while grappling and during various gun-grab or ambush scenarios.
The core components of this course are a key part of the curriculum for military special operations personnel who train with I.C.E. in the Close Quarters Counter Ambush program.
This is an intense course meant for armed professionals and individuals with advanced weapons handling skills and reasonable levels of physical fitness. Therefore, students must have prior training experience with I.C.E. staff and approval to register for this course. Arrangements can be made for private instruction the day before the course starts to accomodate this requirement. Please speak with a staff instructor for more details or to discuss exceptions.

The Combat Focus® Shooting Course is not designed to make you the best shooter you can be on the range, rather its goal is to help you quickly develop fundamental skills that you can by Giant Savings">apply in a worst case scenario defensive shooting situation.
CFS is based on years of constantly evolving information about how the body works and what really happens during Dynamic Critical Incidents and has been heavily influenced by the diverse group of instructors that are certified to teach it and the thousands of students who have been through courses all around the world. The program features a variety of specialty drills and training methods that the student will be able to utilize in the their own practice after the course in order to continue to develop their abilities.
Students will fire between 1000-1200 rounds.
Standard tuition for this course is $250.00, but I.C.E. Training Co. has temporarily reduced that price to $200.00 for 2013 in response to high ammunition costs and other pressures on the firearms industry.
A minimum of 450 rounds is required (400 rifle/50 pistol) for this course, but students can bring extra ammunition as there will be certain drills where round count can easily be increased.
Please note: to be elligle for this class, students must have completed at least a one day CFS class where CFS concepts are taught.

This course is designed specifically for those new to firearms, but experienced shooters who are interested in learning specifically about using a handgun for personal defense in a home defense environment may also want to attend.
This comprehensive course takes place at a live fire range where students will be introduced to the fundamentals of defensive shooting. Students will learn about various firearms types and the distinct advantages that some have over others with regard to defensive use. Students will be introduced to the most important shooting skills and have the opportunity to develop their competency in the context of a "home defense" shooting situation. Fundamental Home Defense Tactics, Responsible Defensive Firearms Storage and dealing with Law Enforcement Response will also be covered.
This course is designed to take 4-6 hours, depending on class size. Students will need to bring 150 rounds of ammunition and should bring their defensive handgun, if they own one, and three (3) magazines .
If you do not have a gun to use there are two 9mm guns available for rent.

The Combat Focus® Shooting Program is an Intuitive shooting program designed to help the student be more Efficient with a defensive firearm in the context of a Dynamic Critical Incident.
