Bio:

My name is Ian Strimbeck and I am a veteran of the United States Marine Corps where I conducted training to host nation forces in small-unit tactics as an Infantry Rifleman. During that time I attained experience in combat and security operations and held every position in a fire team from SAW Gunner to Team Leader. I’ve had the opportunity to have been in multiple high-tension environments during my time in the military and therefore bring back what I’ve learned to you.

From there I spent time working doors at various shady bars until wee hours in the morning which taught me the culture and normalcy of criminal interaction as well as the dynamics of violence and how having an interdisciplinary skillset is vital for survival. Later on, I worked for an executive protection firm in the greater Boston area providing security for various VIP’s, celebrities and international dignitaries.

I hope to see you all out on the range. In the meantime train hard, train often and more importantly…..train to live.

Why CFS:

I have always been a person to ask the “why” question ever since I was a child. After going into the military, that simple question got me unfortunately in trouble most of the time. There was no answer to my questions; it was “because that’s the way it’s taught.” Having the opportunity to view a few of Rob’s videos while he was still at Valhalla after leaving the military, it made me want to eventually take a CFS course. Even after taking the course I wanted more, I wanted to spread the word of what Combat Focus Shooting is all about. The simple fact is that this program does answer all of the “why” questions. Its not “because that’s the way its taught” its due to that our training methodology is based on empirical evidence, neurology, kinesiology, psychology and more. We can explain to the students why we implement certain drills. This program can be used in whatever profession in lieu of its consistency, as well as it works well with what the body does naturally under chaotic stress. During a “worst case scenario” you should be able to use the power of recognizing what’s happening in your immediate surroundings and respond as efficiently as possible. The Combat Focus Shooting program overall will help you understand what the human animal does under certain stimuli, and with that knowledge you should be able to respond with as less time, effort and energy as possible to eliminate said threat.
