Why I teach Combat Focus Shooting...
I believe in Combat Focus for several reasons. The first being that it is the most well thought out program that I have ever been exposed to and because of it’s very nature of always evolving, I doubt that I will likely find something that will suit both my needs and the needs of my students better. For 8 years I learned that there was only one way to do things, but when I questioned anything about that way because I saw the innate flaws in the system, I was given glossed over answers and was told something about a tool box. I have never been given anything but well thought out and scientifically supported answers from the Combat Focus system and Rob.
Secondly, I have staked my life on the premise that efficiency and integrity are the highest standards that we can hold. These words and their definitions had long been burned into my subconscious. More important than the words themselves were the actions that supported them. It was never a case of "whatever works best for you," but rather a case of trained well or not, using a system that works or doesn't.
Finally, I think that there is nothing more irrelevant than removing something from the context with which it is likely to be used as a means of training. Nature has no regard for isolation... or fair fights.
Why I teach Combat Focus is because it is the most Efficient system for training someone to be able to defend themselves in any context that they would likely have to and have a dependable result. Though it is an ever-changing system, I believe that that foundation will never change.
