Why I teach Combat Focus Shooting...

I strongly feel that everyone should be ready and able to protect themselves and their loved ones. I had taken the initial steps to prepare myself by getting a concealed carry permit and then training with various well-respected instructors, but something was definitely still missing. I was looking for a training method specific for the situation of an ambush. Then I took a Combat Focus Shooting class with Rob Pincus. This instruction was exactly what I was looking for – it made perfect sense. More importantly, there were always valid reasons explaining why a certain technique was taught. As a physician and critical thinker, I was impressed with the science behind the recommendations. I remember several times as a student at the end-user course thinking, “This is a gun guy that really understands the anatomy and physiology behind what he is teaching.” I was so impressed that I signed up for the Instructor Development course soon thereafter. Combat Focus Shooting clearly describes how humans react when surprised by a threat, incorporates these reactions into the training methodology, and then explains the best techniques to defend yourself when you find yourself in this position. Quite simply, I chose to be a Combat Focus Shooting Instructor because I feel it is the best way to train in preparation to defend yourself in the ambush situation
